As part of the 2023 International Symposium on Sustainable Ironmaking and Cokemaking, the CIMR hosted two tours.
The tours were by inviation only and not part of the Symposium registration.
Both tours were held on Wednesday, February 8th following the Symposium conclusion.
Tour 1: BlueScope Steel Facilities in Wollongong
Tour of the BlueScope Steel blast furnace and coke oven facilities.
Tour Capacity = 20 people
Tour Program:
6:00am: Depart Newcastle from the Crystalbrook Kingsley Hotel
10:00am: Arrive BlueScope Facilities Wollongong
Site Tour:
3:00pm: Depart BlueScope Facilities Wollongong
7:00pm: Arrive Crystalbrook Kingsley Newcastle.
Tour 2: Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources (NIER) and Hunter Valley Vineyards
Tour of various NIER facilities spanning Iron and Coke making, MCI, Green Hydrogen Research, Beneficiation, and Printed Solar Technologies.
Tour Capacity = 30 people
